Les ortesis de silicona són motlles fets a mida d’elastòmer, que el podòleg confecciona a mida al peu del pacient. Poden tenir diferents formes depenent de l’objectiu del tractament:
- Silicones correctores: indicades per adults i sobretot nens, amb l’objectiu de col·locar els dits en la posició correcta.
- Silicones protectores: indicades a qualsevol persona, l’objectiu és protegir una àrea del peu que està sotmesa a fricció o pressió.
- Silicones substitutives o pròtesis de dits: Indicades per pacients que han patit una amputació d’algun dels dits. L’utilitzem per substituir una part o segment del peu per restablir la funció normal.
